Mixed
Martial Arts
In the last decade the USA, as
well as all around the globe, MMA Mixed Martial Arts
Full Contact We here at Cambria Martial Arts Academy
are one of the few schools that can provide a comprehensive
cross-training program for anyone interested in learning
the MMA Mixed Martial Arts style of fighting, and the
training you will be getting will be in the same ring-dominating
fighting styles you see in the UFC and PRIDE Fighting
events today.
Our
school offers a mix of stand-up fighting styles based
on traditional Muay Thai kick boxing blended with Western
Boxing. Our students will learn all the basic Muay Thai
kick boxing fundamentals including kicking, knee strikes,
elbow strikes, and hand drills, as well as many
standard Western Boxing punch combination drills too.
Along
with that stand-up training, our MMA Program also offers
very extensive training in take-downs, grappling, and
submission locks, with training that was taught to the
instructors by actual fighters who participated in full
contact mixed martial arts events that were televised
... these styles include tradition Japanese Jui-Jistu
blended with many Brazilian Jui-Jitsu techniques, Shooto
or Shoot Fighting training, joint manipulation and locking,
grappling and western wrestling take-downs, lock-flow
series, and traditional and modified Judo and Jui-Jitsu
throws as well, which can supply a fighter with, literally,
hundreds of submission moves and locks. rts ... from
the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships) to PRIDE Fighting
out of Japan, mixed martial arts has swept the globe
like a wave, and has altered the face of martial arts
training forever.
Our
school has actually offered a similar program of training
for several years, and we have done this type of training
well before these MMA events were ever televised ...
our school focuses on creating a self-confident, and
well rounded fighter, that is prepared for anything
from upright fighting to ground fighting, and every
range in between.
For
our students, this specialized MMA Mixed Martial Arts
Training Program requires no previous training or experience
in any martial arts or fighting styles, and it can be
started by anyone. Previous training in boxing, wrestling,
any grappling arts, or any other martial arts training
is helpful, but not required or necessary.

| Muay
Thai |
Muay
Thai (or Thai Boxing) is the national sport of Thailand,
with its' martial arts origin based in the battlefield
tactics of the Siamese or Thai army. Muay Thai is known
and the "King of the Ring" around the world,
and the Thai training methods develop devastating power,
speed, and superb conditioning as well as an intense
fighting spirit.
The
major focus of the style is on power striking techniques
of the hand foot, knee, and elbow ...
Muay Thai kickboxers are generally considered to be
able to generate the hardest and most powerful kicks
in the world and Muay Thai boasts some of the best conditioned
and toughest fighters known today.
At
C.M.A.A., each student will learn all the basic Thai
Boxing fundamentals including kicking, punching, knee
striking, and elbow striking. Along with those techniques,
the student also learns defensive and blocking techniques
for all the offensive attacks.
The
combination of these elements makes Muay Thai a very
effective and devastating fighting style both on the
street and in the ring.
The
training is quite safe due to the sophisticated pad
training that is part of the style. Training on the
Thai pads will develop a smooth fighter and also aids
in developing devastating kicking power.
Thai Boxing can allow an individual to develop into
a very good martial artist in as little as six months
and it can build confidence as well as get a person
into better shape.

| Jiu-Jitsu |
Jiu-jitsu
is a legendary and extremely effective art as a means
of self defense and the style can be traced back for
many centuries to its' native country of Japan, where
it was use as a suplimental training form for the Samurai
warriors to accompany their legendary weapon training.
Jiu-jitsu
is one of the oldest forms of hand-to-hand combat in
Japan. Records of Jiu-jitsu date back over 2000 years
and the style was spawned from combat systems of warfare
that were exclusive to various types of weaponry.
These
systems of combat were primarily, but not exclusively
taught, learned, and used, by the
legendary Samurai, who were a very high and very respected
class of warriors who, at one time, were the ruling
class of Japan ... Jiu-jitsu was the Samurai warriors
main style of combat techniques after their weapon of
choice, the sword.
At C.M.A.A., each student will learn the basic fundimentals
of the art of Jiu-jitsu which will include stances and
movement, falling techniques, joint locking techniques,
throwing, grappling techniques, chokes/strangling techniques,
and standing and ground submission techniques. A student
learns self defense techniques to counter all types
of attacks and Jiu-jitsu offers the average person an
ability to cope with, and triumph over, a physical attacker.

Kenpo Karate
|
Kenpo,
in translation, means "the law of the fist"
and it is a unique martial arts style having been founded
several centuries ago in a Chinese Shaolin temple.
On
an external level, Kenpo is a no-holds barred fighting
system of offensive and defensive methods, with equal
emphasis of striking techniques with both the hands
and the feet. The implementation of immobilization,
control techniques, projections, takedowns, as well
as some
weaponry adds a range to the fighting system you find
in no other martial arts style.
Kenpo,
as developed in America, is a street worthy martial
arts system in which the emphasis is on self defense
techniques, and Kenpo is regarded as one of the best
striking arts in the world.
n
the style of Kenpo, a student learns to use his hands,
feet, knees, elbows, and even the head as weapons and
in the unique system of Grandmaster Nick Cerios' Kenpo,
which is taught at C.M.A.A., the student will learn
the basic stances, punches, kicks, hand strikes, and
forms.
The
total training concept is what makes Kenpo a superior
means of self defense enabling anyone, young, old, male,
or female, to protect themselves and their loved ones
in a physical confrontation or attack.

| Eskrima |
Eskrima
is a martial art that originated in the Phillipines
and is steeped in actual combat usage throughout its
history. It is also one of the few arts that still is
used, in one degree or another, in actual combat today.
It is taught all over the world and many military special
forces teams use these techniques in their training.
Eskrima
covers all fighting ranges, allowing a person to defend
against armed and unarmed attacks with whatever is available,
but most training emphasize weapons proficiency and
the ability for a person to learn to attack and defend
themselves with the Eskrima or Kali stick.
Eskrima
provides an excellent conditioning regimen for adults
as well as children, with the added benefit of learning
self-defense.
At
C.M.A.A., students are taught the Inayan System
of Eskrima, which encompasses more than one style
of Eskrima. The systems taught at our school are
Sinawali (double stick training), Dequerdas (single
stick training), and Kadena De Mano (knife training).
This
incredible weapons system is a multi-faceted system
and it teaches a person speed and fast reflexes
plus adds training for everyday life allowing
a person to defend themselves against armed attackers.
